Easy Tips You Should Know Before Camping

By Shane Dolby

Has camping been an intimidating prospect, simply because you have no previous experience with it? Don’t let your fears prevent you from having fun. A little confidence and some good advice should help you on your way. This is the right place to learn what you need. The following article will show you the best camping guidelines you can find on the internet.

Expect that camping is not typically a time you can stay clean easily. If you’re ready for this, it will bother you less when it happens. Let loose and allow everyone to get messy while you enjoy the time spent in the woods. You can go back to normal when you go home.

Let all the members of your family have a hand in picking your campsite. Have a conversation about where you want to go. The United States offers so many choices that choosing one can be hard! To aid in this decision, you may want to offer a few of those that you personally like the best and than let each family member vote.

A cute way to add fun to meals is to make what is known as a “jungle meal”. Take juice boxes, mini cereal boxes and fruit and tie the food to trees. Let younger children wake up and hunt for their breakfast. The kids will love it.

Dryer lint can be used as kindling for starting your campfire. Start collecting it in advance of your trip. Hang up a grocery bag beside your dryer and collect the lint in it. The morning of your departure, all you need to do is grab the bag and depart, kindling sorted!

Take a luxury item with you when camping. Take something like creamer for your coffee or a chocolate candy bar. These little things can make your day!

Be sure and give children a thorough explanation of what camping is all about and entails, before hauling them off on a potentially dangerous adventure. It is simple to show them which plants they should stay away from prior to your trip.

Are you just starting out in the world of camping? Before you go out and start on your trip, practice setting up your tent. This will give you the confidence to pitch your tent at any time. With this practice under your belt, your tent will go up much quicker and have you sheltered before night falls.

Make sure to bring several flashlights or lanterns and extra batteries on your camping trip. Many camping spots are remote, so there will not be a glow from city lights guiding you in the dark. If you have a flashlight or lamp you can avoid injury, such as getting poked in the eye by a branch. You may want to get each child a flashlight of his or her own if you’re taking kids on your camping trip.

Try to keep your cell phone completely charged. You may also want to bring a couple of extra batteries in case one runs out. A cell phone is perhaps the most useful item of emergency equipment that you can carry with you, but you do need to ensure that it does not run out of juice.

Have a first aid pack on hand, as well as a well stocked survival kit. Together, these items can be the difference between going home early and rapidly addressing problems that arise. You can avoid making situations worse, and you can take an injured person for help in a safe way.

It’s time to go camping! Whether it’s in a location far away or in the backyard, remember these tips. Soon, you will be enjoying camping on a regular basis.
